How to Install the Motion Controller Board

Tools:

①Flat head screwdriver

②2.5mm hex wrench

③Tweezers

1. Turn off the power.

 

2. Open the side door.

1)     Open the door on the right side of the printer where filament is loaded and locate the box with a lightning bolt on the panel.

 

3. Remove the old board.

2)     The panel with the lightning bolt is held on with tabs. Insert a flathead screwdriver between the panel and the box to push the side of the box away from the panel.

 

A: If your Motion Controller Board is green. 

1. Remove the 4 screws on the board with a 2.5mm hex wrench.


1)     Use the flat screwdriver to remove the glue holding in the extruder motor cables and loosen the terminals holding power leads.


2)     Remove all interfaces on the board and label them properly to avoid mistakes rewiring the board later, which may damage the board.



4. Adjust the line (green board only). 

 

How to adjust motor power supply X,Y,Z port line:

1)     Pick out the No 1 and No 2 needles, and then insert the No 1 needle into port 2, No 2 needle into port 1 as well. (Exchange the red line and black line). The interface is then inserted into the port relative to the board, namely the X, Y, and Z ports on the new board (see the end port location map for details).


How to adjust motor driven J33, J34, J38 port line (green board only):

1)     Pick out No 1, No 2, No 3, No 4 needles, then insert No 1 needle into port 5, No 2 into port 4 and No 4 into port 2 (That is, exchange black line and green line and insert red line into empty port).

 

2)     The interface is then inserted into the port relative to the board, namely the J 33, J 34, and J 38 ports on the new board (see the end port location map for details).

 

5. Install the new board.

1)     Reinstall four screws and connect all ports to the opposite location on the new board.

 

2)     Connect the corresponding power cord, paying attention to the positive and negative poles (red is positive pole and black is negative pole), check whether there are missing interfaces after installation, and make sure there is no error.



B. If your Motion Controller Board is black. 


1. Remove all interfaces on the board and label them properly to avoid mistakes rewiring the board later which could damage the board. The details are shown as the following figure:


2. Remove the old board (the black one), install the new board and insert all the wires as labeled.

 

3. Close the cover of the power box.
