How to Load & Unload Filament

[ Manual Pro2 Series -How to Load & Unload Filament - V1.0 ]

1. Open the side door of the printer and install the spool holder(s) into the mounting point(s).

Place the filament spool(s) on the holder(s).

Note: If the spool is installed at points B and D, the direction of the filament spool should rotate clockwise, if it is installed at A and C, the filament spool should rotate counterclockwise.

2. Select the “Utilities” tab on the screen and set the temperature of the nozzle to the proper loading temperature for the filament used in that nozzle. (Raise3D PLA’s default loading temperature is 215℃. The recommend target temperature for other filaments is typically 5-10 higher than its common printing temperature.)

Select the “Load” button and the printer will begin to heat. When the target temperature is reached, select "Load".

The extruder will start to load the filament. Wait until the filament extrudes evenly, then select “OK” to complete loading process.

3. Locate the end of the filament and feed it through the guide tube.

Lift the guide tube and insert the filament end all the way into the extruder until you feel it has been grabbed by feeding gear.

4. Select the “Utilities” tab on the screen and set the temperature of each nozzle. Use the same guidelines for temperature as you did in loading (Step 2).

Select the “Unload” button and the printer will begin to heat. When the target temperature is reached, select "Unload". The extruder will start Pre-load automatically for a few seconds. And switch to unload after pre-load completes.

Wait until the filament is completely retracted, then select “OK” to complete unloading process.

5. To store your filament after unloading, roll the spool until the filament end is completely removed from the guide tube. Keep track of the filament end while spooling to prevent tangling.

Remove the filament from the spool holder, and tuck the end into the available holes on the side of your spool to neatly secure your filament and prevent tangle failures.
