Step 2: Upgrade Your RaiseTouch Firmware to Hyper Speed Mode

After receiving the upgrade email, Hyper Speed upgrade can be carried out according to the following steps.

Currently two methods of firmware upgrade are available: 1. USB disk upgrade; 2. Online upgrade.

Note: Online upgrade may fail due to network issues. It is recommended to use the USB disk upgrade.

2.1 Adjust Stepper Drivers

Before upgrading the Raise3D Hyper Speed firmware, you MUST adjust the stepper drivers of your Pro2 series printer, otherwise the upgrade may fail. Tools needed for the operation: a Philips-head screwdriver and gloves. Note: The operation needs two people.

1.Tap the user interface to stop the current printing task.

2.Shut down and unplug the power supply.

3.Remove the protective cover on the printer, move the printer to an open area and ensure that the printer is at least 1.5m away from the wall.

4.Ensure the build plate is clear.

5.As shown by the arrows in the figure below, lay the printer down on its left side directly from the standing position to expose the base plate. (Note: Make sure there is enough space when the printer is laid down. The printer is heavy and needs two people to lay it down. Please be careful and handle it slowly to avoid damaging the printer.)

6.Use the screwdriver to remove the bottom metal base plate and find the drivers.

7.Due to different versions of the printer, there are two structure versions for the bottom stepper drivers: 6-bit and 8-bit. Please check the bit number for the encoder at the bottom of the printer first, and adjust the stepper drivers as shown in the figure below.

6-bit encoder: There is only one encoder, which is located on the left side of the stepper driver (Note: just adjust 4, 5, and 6. Since 1, 2, and 3 are related to the current, there is no need to adjust them.)

8-bit encoder: There are two encoders.

The front position: As shown in the figure, keep the factory settings without adjustment.

The side position: The factory stepper drivers for Pro2 and Pro2 Plus are different. Number 3 is OFF for Pro2, while Number 3 is ON for Pro2 Plus. Please adjust them according to the corresponding figures.

Pro2: There is no need to adjust 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8, and just dial 7 up to turn it OFF.

Pro2 Plus: There is no need to adjust 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8, and just dial 7 up to turn it OFF.

8.Reinstall the bottom metal base plate, stand the printer, plug in the power supply, reinstall the protective cover, and start the machine to resume updating. (Note: If the rollback operation is performed after finishing hyper speed upgrade, you need to readjust the bottom stepper drivers.)

2.2 USB Disk Upgrade
