How to Replace the Extrusion Gear

Tool & Part:

①1.5 mm hex wrench

A. Unload the Filament from the Extruder

1.You need to unload the filament from the extruder. For the operation details, please refer to the steps 1 to 5 in the section of “How to Unload the Filament” in the document about “How to Load and Unload the Filament”.


B. Replace the Extrusion Gear

1.When the printer is in stand-by mode, locate the four screws on the extruder cover as shown in the red circles in the following figure. Unscrew them with the hex wrench, and remove the extruder cover from the extruder.


2.Remove the extrusion gear from the extruder.


3.Align the extrusion gear shaft near the big end with the metal bearing in the slot (as shown in the red circle in the following left figure), and push it forward until the extrusion gear shaft and the metal bearing are tightly fixed in place.


4.As shown in the red circles in the following figure, align the extrusion gear shaft near the small end with the metal bearing in the extruder cover, install back the extruder cover until a “Click” is heard, and then tighten the four screws. The replacement of the extrusion gear is completed.
